Last night I found out that two of my three children/children-in-law are coming for a week-long visit at the end of the summer season. Usually when they come out to the East Coast for a visit, I have to share them with others. So a couple of days here and off they go to visit other relatives. This time they will be staying with us for their entire visit. I am sooooooooo excited, I am sooooooooooo thrilled.....!
And the third child might be coming, too. He does not have a great deal of vacation left. He has to save some for Christmas. He took an extra week already to become a certified sail captain, so he has fewer days to use up. But he is thinking about it.
In today's far flung world, they do not live close enough to make quick trips to visit Mom. My oldest son and his wife live in Alaska, so it is a quick 12+ hour flight to get out to the Philadelphia or Baltimore area. My youngest son lives in Minnesota. Closer, but still a 3 hour flight or a full day's+ drive. So we have to relish every moment we get to spend together.
And relish we will, the first week in September.
