It has been a long time since I posted a travel blog. Since moving to Alaska, I have only left the Borough of Fairbanks to go to North Pole, AK. This weekend I will be in Seward, AK for a WELS Women's Retreat with50+ other Alaskan ladies. Many of the ladies are flying into Anchorage and then renting a car. I decided to take Miss Gaddy the Caddy for a carbon-cleansing drive and make it a road trip. I have along with me my friend, Patty Belcher, to keep me company. She normally travels with her daughter... but the daughter is out of town, so I offered her a ride. Many thought we were crazy as the nasty winter weather can happen at any time but we threw caution to the kind and headed out early this morning to drive as far as Anchorage where we will spend the night before traveling on to Seward.
I took a few pictures as we were driving. The sun came out finally and the mountain views were lovely. But my pictures did not turn out from inside the car. You will just have to believe that in the first one we could clearly see Denali. In the second one... it was just pretty. I did not want to stop and get better pics. Perhaps on our way home.
| As you can see, the road is clear and dry |
| Trust me, Denali was sitting at the end of the road!!! We stopped in Healy, AK to take a potty break and get gas. No pictures, just two old ladies stretching their legs. |
