Wind and Christmas Decorations…
I live across from an open field facing west. On normally windy days, the direction of the
wind comes from the west or northwest and hits the front of my little house
head on.
My lovely Christmas Present Topiary enjoyed several days
with little or no wind. Last night,
things got blustery. When I put Molly
out for her morning pee, this is what I saw!!
The glue was not strong enough to withstand all of the
strength of Mother Nature. It
tried. Very hard. Inspecting the base… which remained in its
place thanks to the tent stakes, those same tent stakes were pulled a couple of
inches up before the wrapping paper tore on the bottom box allowing the boxes
to be moved from the front of the house to the back, where they are resting
against my neighbors fence. I will
retrieve them, shortly.
I will be heading to Indian Acres tomorrow and will bring
home the dowels that are in the corner of the sewing area and will redo the
display with a bit more of a windproof structure. Live and learn!
