Today, I finally finished packing the van, put Winston on his fluffy throne and we headed out for Hillsville, VA. This is our stop for the night. Tomorrow we stop at Snow Mountain to make a payment that was lost before heading for the chalet in Doe Run.
Winston was an excellent rider. His throne in the passenger seat is topped with his fluffy pillow. For the first hour or so he was sitting up, waiting to see where we were going. He finally just curled up and slept. He was also very good when we stopped. Clipped on his.lead, out in the grass and peed so we were not wasting time sniffing at every leaf and stick.
We did run into a problem. As we headed out, it was cloudy, drizzly and cool. The sun was out when we hit Virginia and the outside temperature reached 80 degrees. It became very warm in the van, so I turned on the air conditioner but it did not cool anything down. Winston got quite warm sitting in the sun. So, I am guessing that I will have to have the van serviced. Would have preferred to have been at home for this, but I am sure it will work out. The weather turned back to rain and the van cooled nicely until we got to the motel.
Tomorrow is move in day. Marji and Danny will be here too, so it will be a fun day. And I am betting that this month will fly by.....
