And even with all of the heat, it was a better day than yesterday.
Another Breathe Right Strip resulted in another good night's sleep. I did have some really strange dreams overnight and I work while dreaming and had to kind of shake myself into real reality versus dream reality. The last one I was trying to drive the truck and it kept traveling in directions over which I had no control, including braking. I could either drive with no steering or stop just before I hit something. A very helpless feeling. Perhaps I need to drive the truck some so my mind does not keep thinking that it does not work right!
My first task was to contact Fed Ex. A delivery was not made as the driver made a very limited attempt to do so. Instead I got a 'door tag' stating I could pick up the package in West Chester with no additional delivery scheduled. I had tried to log onto the web site to list my request for a re-delivery, but to no avail until it told me I had tried too many times and to try again in a few DAYS!!! So, today I called. Felt badly for the young man who got me as I was relatively angry, as he was giving me the "standard" response and I did not want that. He finally rescheduled my package for Monday. It better get here. In fact, I just checked online and they have not yet rescheduled even though I have now spoken to two Fed Ex Customer Service gentlemen who have assured me that it will get here on Monday. I will let you know. Because if it does not, I will probably take to social media!
It is hot today. It is almost 10:00 PM and it is still hot here.
I got my eyeglass straps to take on the trip. Even though my progressive bifocals are fairly new I cannot read with them. So I got some lovely reading glasses and now have straps for all of them. This will allow me to keep track of them as I travel in September.
I did finally get to the grocery. I picked up some of the meats at Dutchway that were on special and in packages for single people. This is one of the only stores that deals with, not only family packs for those folks feeding kids but also package things in sets of two or three for older couples and people like me who live alone. I got the basics, milk, eggs and bread. I also picked up some of their chicken salad. It is really, really good chicken salad and I see stuffed tomatoes in my future.
The rest of the day was getting some more stuff put away, playing with the dogs and preparing to teach Sunday School.
I am fairly new to the teaching thing at church. So I have to spend more time than most getting my thoughts organized based on the lesson from our Quarterly book. I only do this once a month, but it seems to come around faster and faster all the time. I did stop at church before heading to the store. I had to get the selected hymns for tomorrow entered into the projections system. This allows the congregation to see the words up on a screen and not have to fumble through the hymnals. We finally have a nice group of people who work together to make the Sunday Service look well put together and fluid. Little do they know what has to go into that system to make it look that way!
Tomorrow I will be heading to Indian Acres after church to see a friend. It has been quite a while since I have been there and she and her companion have just moved into another place that is better suited for their family. I am looking forward to seeing this place.
I did stop today to take a picture. As everyone knows, unless you are living under a rock, the
Summer Olympics are happening in Rio de janeiro, Brazil. There are several athletes from around our Philadelphia area, but one was actually from this immediate area. Cierra Runge graduated from Octorara High School and was on the swim team. She swam the qualifying heat that got the women's swim team into the final round. While she did not swim in the final, the team, doing the 4x200m freestyle relay, won the gold medal, so anyone who swam in that competition also won the gold medal. So, passing the school today, I noticed the sign at the school complex and made sure to stop and take a picture. Here is our tiny claim to fame:
