Happy National Quilting Day….
It is also Maple Syrup Day.
So, pancakes for dinner!!!
Today was a day that I set aside to do some fun things just
for me. I like to try to do that on most
Saturdays, but usually life gets in the way.
Today, it was MY Day!!!
I had done my laundry yesterday and cleared the decks of
stuff, so today I could sew. The lady who
does the Quilting Retreat in November does “Mystery” Quilts at least 6 times a
year and in return we donate money to Relay for Life. I had the fabric but had not managed to get
the cutting done, so I just watched as the clues for the steps to building the
quilt came in during the day. (It is a
delightful quilt and I will get to it soon.)
Instead I got the batting/backing cut and stitched for the two strip quilts
I completed last fall. I called the lady
who does my machine quilting and will take them to her next week. Then I got out strips I had available and
used up the leftover batting to do a rag quilt that I have wanted to do for a
while. I have gotten almost a third of
the strips sandwiched and would like to have it finished by the end of the
week. So I did do some quilting on
National Quilting Day!!
Tomorrow I will be seeing Danny and perhaps Marji. I have a new stove being delivered on Thursday. Danny is going to unhook the stove from the
propane and then I will have to contact my gas company to set up an install on
Friday or early next week.
The rest of my week is fast filling up. I wonder how I managed to work a full-time
job???
So, I wish you a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day on Sunday. This would have been the opening weekend at
Indian Acres, and honestly, I am happy to not have that chore ahead of me.
