Yesterday was a very gray and rainy day. The temperatures went up into the 50's. Even as late as 6:00 PM, the outside temp was reading 50 degrees. But there was a great deal of rain falling during the day.
When one has snow pack on the ground from a major storm and the temps go up into the nice, springtime range and then rain, you can end up with fog. The mist is evaporating from the snow and creates a misty fog, even while rain is coming down from the clouds. I call it snog.... snow fog!
Normally I would not even think about going out on a foggy night, especially in the rain. Driving at night seems to be getting more difficult the older I get. And while I would prefer not to, there are times when one must.
There is a quilt shop nearby, The Quilt Ledger in Christiana, and every Wednesday night the owner, Leslie Reese, opens her shop for Lady's Night. Starting at 6"00 PM, we can go, bring our machines or projects and just sew away. Plus, if you buy anything, she gives you 10% off.
Leslie has a couple of longarm quilters that she uses in her shop. I have been taking my finished quilt tops to Shelli Smith in Middletown, DE. But sometimes it is just such a long drive, now, to get there and Shelli has such a schedule that it might be a couple of weeks to get into see her. So I met Cindy at The Quilt Ledger last night.
I have just finished an adorable baby quilt for a young family I feel very close to. The baby is due on the 18th, so I will not make that date, but I want to get this gift off to them as soon as I can. So, I met with Cindy and went over the quilt and the designs for the quilting. We selected the perfect design to go with this quilt and she has taken it off to her place. Hopefully within a couple of weeks, I will get it back, get the binding done and off it will go. I will post pictures of the finished product once they receive it.
But it was a very snoggy night. There were a couple of places where I lost the road I was driving on. But going slowly and using my fog lights, I was just fine.
Today I am off on another adventure. Patty and I are off to shop for fabric, again. I hate when the happens..... not! She is taking me to 2 new places around here to get fabric. What can be better than that!
