January Thaw

After not sleeping well a couple of nights ago, I have had two straight 9 hour plus nights.  Making up for lost sleep??  Perhaps.  But it is really nice to see that I am now having solid hours of sleep.

I have a Fitbit Flex that I wear most days.  Most people who wear them are mainly keeping track of the number of steps that they take in a 24 hour period.  I look at that as well, but I primarily got the silly thing to monitor my sleep.

Yesterday I charged my Flex.  The only drawback to these little bits is that they do need to be charged from time to time.  So I charged mine to show 5 bars.  But this morning the online dashboard indicated that it was running low.  And sure enough, it showed no power.  Have no idea why.  I have only had the silly thing a year.  So I am charging it again.  I will let you know.

The last couple of days have been abnormally warm for January.  The sun has been bright, but yesterday it was gray and cloudy with rain.  Temperatures outside have been in the high 40's and into the 50's.  Tomorrow it may get to 60 with rain.  Most people would refer to this as the January thaw.  I am calling it the great snow reducer.

The tall walls that were created when Danny used the snow blower to open up a place in the yard for them to pee have now shrunk down to almost nothing.  If the warm weather continues for today and tomorrow, all but the big mounds should be pretty much gone.  Too bad that I could not have kept the snow unplowed.  It might all be gone by now!!!

My weather guys are looking at more snow come Monday and then later in the week.  My son, Rob, is agreeing, but we are not talking nearly the amount of snow from the last storm.  Thank goodness!  But after the 30+ inches from before, even a foot of snow does not sound all that bad!

I will be heading out to the store shortly.  I have been in a soup making mood.  I have made two pots of beef barley soup.  I am looking for the makings for french onion soup.  It is one of my favorites.

Still have Christmas decorations up in the house.  Need to get them down and back in the attic.  Just not wanting to do that, yet!
