Parkesburg Walmart is terrible these days.....

I remember when they announced that Parkesburg.... little tiny Parkesburg.... was going to get a Walmart Supercenter.  Rudy and I swore we would not go on the day they opened, but we did and I think we each went in there everyday for a week or more.  It was remarkable to see all of the merchandise in so many departments.... including food.... at such nice prices.  It was clean and bright and full of light and friendly people and plenty of room to wander around.

Over the years, as with anything, it has changed.  Usually things only get better.  At first it did improve.  New departments, more things to buy.  But then the aisles got smaller and things got more crowded and the floors were less clean and some areas became neglected.  They took areas away, like fabric, and then they would bring things back, like fabric.

As I am now on Medicare, I had signed up, through Humana, to use their Walmart Prescription Plan.  I changed to that plan in 2015 and with my medications, I never even reached past level 2.  It is wonderful to have my medications at an affordable level.... sometimes.

Last year that plan worked very well.  This year, not so much.

In January I saw my doctor on January 6th.  He authorized new scripts for my meds and it was sent to the Parkesburg Walmart.  I needed to get refills.  I knew the cholesterol  med would not be filled because it had gotten out of sync with the others when my cardiologist changed what I was taking.  I waited and waited for the Walmart text message to say that they were ready to be picked up.  I finally checked online to see that they were ready.  So up I go.  I wait in line and finally get to the counter and they tell me I need to provide them with a new card.  But I had not changed anything so I had a new card.  But Walmart insisted that I needed to give them a new card.  I was livid.  I knew that I was right, but they would not hear of it.  So I went outside, called my insurance guy.  We called Medicare folks and verified that I was still on Humana and there was no new card.

So back into Walamrt, armed with correct information and challenged them.  This time, they took the time to run it through Humana.... and it was amazing, they paid all of my claims.

Strike ONE for Walmart.

Last week I called in the refill for my cholesterol medication.  I wanted to make sure that they processed it as THEIR records online indicated it has been filled on January 6th when it was not.  I show up to pick it up and they tell me it is too soon to get it filled.  Their records showed I had gotten it on January 6th.  I argued that I had not.  The only choice I had was to pay full price for it.  I declined and headed home, livid again.

I did not act on anything last week.  I cooled down and finally got online at the Human site and downloaded my claims.  It clearly showed that 11/25/2015 was the last refill and NOT on January 6, 2016.  I took that information back to Walmart and when they ran it through their system, it was paid for!  Vindicated, yet again.  But I really get annoyed when I am treated like I am a totally stupid senior citizen.  And they are truly rude and arrogant when they were dealing with me.

I waited, today, to get my medication before they changed their minds.  I went to the fabric area.... duh!  I was surprised to find someone there to cut fabric.  Usually I have to go to the electronics area to find someone who can call for someone to cut fabric.  But there were actually three people there today, so I picked up some fabric.  Then I had to use the facilities... I try not to have to use public restrooms.  This one was disgusting.  Of the 6 stalls, only 2 had toilets that appeared to flush.  The rest were full of toilet paper.  The handicapped stall had pee droplets on the seat and the big toilet paper holder was broken and hanging open.  But it did have toilet paper.  I wiped up the seat and did what had to be done, but I will think twice about ever using it again.

I actually think I may have to write a letter to Walmart, both National as well as the local Walmart.  I wonder if it would make any kind of difference???

Why do people think that because I am getting older, that I am suddenly becoming stupid and senile???  Glad that I know I am not!!
