Shopping, I hate when I have to go shopping.... NOT!

Yesterday I picked up Patty and we headed up to East Earl, PA and the Goodville Fabric Outlet.  It is now called Zinck's.  The building itself is farther off the road than one would expect.  I am glad that Patty had been there before.  I am not sure I would have traveled far enough back to have found it.  Inside the door is the quilt fabric area.  Off the the left was the homespun room.  Lots of pretty fabrics in both of them.  Beyond that area was an actual warehouse.  All manner of fabric on bolts.  Honestly, some of it was mystery fabric.... meaning it was stiff and rough and I have no idea what it was made out of or what one might do with it.  But there were knits, and fleece and athletic fabric, flannels, tee-shirt fabric, wool, etc., etc.  Prices were not bad on any of it.  So, if you want to make a table cloth or napkins to match, this is the place to start looking.

Patty and I were re-buying fabric that we had already purchased to make a log cabin cross wall hanging for the church.  Unfortunately, an error in cutting had us going back and buying all new.  But we found some really nice fabric and in two different colors.  So it may have been a costly mistake, but it is going to look awesome.

I found several pretty fabrics as well.  I found a lovely gray that will go into my stash after I make a bow tie for Brian.  I also found another bow tie fabric.  I am very pleased to have found this place and will go back for sure when I am looking for a project.

We then headed out to go to Yoder's buffet, where we had eaten before.  As we were sitting at the light at Route 322 and Route 23, Patty motioned to a fabric shop where a sewing machine dealer/repair place also lives.  Martin's had on display a beautiful quilting machine and frame setup.  A Baby Lock longarm quilt machine on a 10 foot frame.  It could be computer run or manually run either meandering or using pantographs.  If I could find the 14 feet by 6 or 7 feet in a room and then the $14,000+, it could be set up in my house and I could start doing quilting for myself and for others as a business.  Something to think about and dream about!!!

After lunch, we headed over to Good's and I found some more fabric.  Yardage to do some more 4-way place mats and another bow tie fabric.  Look out, Brian, you will have some smart new ties arriving soon.  I also found a couple of round table cloths for my dining room table in some nifty colors.

Today, I finally took my Christmas decorations down.  After going to the bank, I headed to Walmart and found a vase and some artificial flowers to dress up the dining table and the new blue table cloth.  So I was doing the table top cleaning that I have to do from time to time, arranging flowers (I did two, I had found clear floral marbles at Walmart on sale so I added them to an arrangement that I already had before working on the new ones).  Now, if I could only keep the table clear.  I say that every time and it always gets piled high with stuff.  But I will keep trying.

Tomorrow is cleaning up the kitchen and then sewing!!!  I am excited.
