I had all kinds of good intentions. I dressed to go to church, drove down to find the parking lot empty and the sign in front of the church announcing the church picnic. I have been away for so many Sundays, I was not aware of the change in time and place. So, I headed home. Molly was a bit confused, but glad I was home.
Not much accomplished. I did get all of the laundry folded and put away. Watched the NASCAR race and managed to find and order the vinyl mesh that the ladies will need for the beach bags that will be a project on the trip.
I worked on making some finished edge for the one last quilt that needed a binding. Shelli has been leaving a lip if backing all around the edge of my finished quilts. Since this is just a silly little scrappy quilt, I have just folded the excess over and will stitch it down by machine so that quilt will be finished. I have three other tops that are needing borders and binding, so I will begin working on them.
I did grill some spare ribs tonight. I am gradually getting the hang of grilling. These were small but meaty bone-in country spare ribs. I also cooked some corn-on-the cob in the oven. I really like the way they come out when done this way. It is perfect for a single person. Just get the oven up to 350 degrees, put the corn, husk and all, in the oven. Cook for 30 minutes or until done. The husk keeps the moisture in, the silks come off so easily and it is yummy.
So, I did accomplish something, but at a nice pace for the day. No appointments but am going to lunch on Tuesday, but that is a fun thing. Should be a nice, quiet week.
