Today was preparation for my future with guns.
As much a surprise to me as it may be to you. But I had such a nice time shooting with Brian on my trip to his house, I decided that it would be fun to learn how to properly shoot a gun and, perhaps, even become a fair marksman.
Today I went to the new justice center in West Chester and filed an application to carry a concealed weapon. It was not necessary as I doubt that I will ever need to carry a weapon except to take it to the range, but there may come a time when it may be much more difficult to get such a permit, I figured I should just go ahead and get one. Took less than 15 minutes and that included a nice discussion with the hunky sheriff's officer who gave laws I should be aware of and a couple of thoughts about gun safety courses to take.
After that I headed to Targetmaster in Chadd's Ford where I looked at a couple of handguns that would be good starter guns for honing in my shooting skills before moving up to a high powered gun. I became a member at the range for a year that would give me unlimited use of the range and free rental weapons and free guests. My first visit requires another person, so I am hoping that my BFF Debby will find time next week to meet me there for my first shooting experience.
Taking it slow but looking forward to learning all about guns.
