Rain, Rain...Yikes!

I was jostled from a sound sleep around 6:30 AM.  I laid quietly.  My weather alert was going off in the living room and the thunder was rolling and rain was pelting the windows.  As I rolled over, I jostled Molly, so she decided it was time to go out and pee.  So we got up.  She took one look at the pouring rain and wandered all over the deck to see if it might be different somewhere else.  She finally bit the bullet and dashed down the steps and as far under the overhang as she could, peed and then dashed back up on the deck.

I took a moment to look at my rain gauge.  To my surprise, it was already reading 2+ inches of rain.  I turned on the TV and the local news was already reporting the beginning of flooding.  The best thing for me??  Back to bed, of course.

It was a bit after 9:00 AM when I came too again.  Molly wanted to go out again, so I made a cup of coffee (I love my pod coffee maker!) and once Molly got into the house, we curled up in the recliner.

It now reads at 4.10 inches of rain, there is a bit of a drizzle coming down.  It should be finished by this afternoon.  I am meeting my BFF Debby at Targetmaster for my first night on their gun range.
