Missteps and Sam's Club

Well, I have seen it all now.  I was preparing to tell you the story of a missed lunch because of a bad hearing aid and laundry when my traveling companion, Miss Molly, started woofing at me.  She wanted to go outside and pee.  She is usually pretty good at asking, but tonight it was something to see.

As the title indicated, I made it to Sam's Club today.  I needed dog food and trash bags along with a few other items.  In the dog aisle, I found a box of 'Mintees'.  These are a generic form of 'Greenies' that are green, spearmint flavored bones that help clean doggie teeth and freshen doggie breath.  I had gotten Molly some tiny Mintees a while back to see if she would even eat them.  She is a picky eater and I have thrown more snacks away because she would never even put one in her mouth.  But she seems to like the Mintees, so... while the Sam's Club version were a bit bigger, I got them for her.

After she ate her dinner tonight, I got out a bigger Mintee and gave it to her.  She ignored it for a minute or two and then she picked it up and for the last hour she has been chewing and chewing on it.  One of the things she does with them is to get them in her mouth and then walk around with it in her mouth.  Not just for a minute, but for as long as 15/20 minutes.  She holds it in her mouth, does not put it down and just walks all over the house, many times with the green end sticking out of her mouth.  It makes her look a great deal like a rabid bunny or beaver with alien front teeth.

Tonight, the bone is bigger.  She has been chewing and breaking it into pieces.  Then she works on the pieces, one at a time, until they are gone.

Her woofing???  She was making a woofing sound while holding the green Mintee still in her mouth.  She kept it in as we went to the back door.  It was still in her mouth as she got hooked up to her lead.  It remained in her mouth as she hustled down the steps into the grass, squatted and peed.  It was still in her mouth when she came back in and is now gone.  Like I said, I have seen it all, now!!
