Three Nights and Counting

Three Nights and Counting….

So, I have had my new, luxury bed for three nights and I am a very happy camper.  I have enjoyed playing with all of the bells and whistles in addition to just sleeping well.

The bed raises the head of the bed, the foot of the bed.  It also massages.  I can massage my upper body or my legs or both.  The intensity of the massaging can be increased or decreased plus it can also be set up to ‘wave’ which varies the intensity to create a rolling sensation.  I can also select both body and legs and get a full body massage.  It reminds me of the old motel ‘Magic Fingers’ beds where you put in a quarter and the bed vibrated for a period of time.  When my family would travel to Florida each summer for vacation from Kentucky, it was one of the first things that my brother and I would look for.  And we always had a quarter or two for that luxury.  You would have thought we were royalty.  Now I have it in my own bedroom and I do not even need quarters.

I also have three buttons on the remote that I can use for my custom settings.  I have been trying different positions for watching TV and for sleeping.  I find that the massage in the gentle setting make falling asleep easier.  I spent time during the day being lazy and enjoying the bed.  I am not sure if it was the movie I was watching or the massage, but I fell asleep for an hour during the day… something that I rarely ever do… and I find I am falling asleep much easier than I have been.

Molly, my 14 year old miniature poodle, has been getting up in the middle of the night to go outside.  She has always been a middle of the night needing to go out dog.  It’s been somewhat like having an infant that cannot sleep through the night for 14 years!  Some nights, when she needs to go out, by the time she is done, I am awake and cannot fall asleep.  She just curls up and is asleep in no time but if I have wakened enough, I may have trouble falling back to sleep.  Not the last three nights.  I just hop up into the bed, snuggle down into the cloud of a mattress and I am asleep almost as quickly as Molly.

So, to say I am pleased with my luxurious bed is an understatement.  Yes, it was a splurge, but one that I will be using every night.  I am not ready to say it is helping my old, achy bones, but I do feel more limber when I wake.  But the joy I get by being pampered when I am in bed is…. Priceless!
